Such an honor to visit the homestead of Joy Prouty and her wildflowers, a beautiful family with one more blessing on the way that I can not wait to see come into a world full of so much love. The word, workshop, seems so unworthy to me after the experience that we all had. Joy’s love for people is what made me feel more comfortable with my approach to my work. I love people. I love learning who they are, what their quirks are, what they love to do, and then only then, would I want to start photographing them. Actually spending time and sitting back instead of the “posey posey” stuff is my favorite. Most of the time, if you are comfortable with who is photographing you, you tend to fall into the magical looks anyway.
This was the last day in their Bellingham, WA home as they were headed out to Austin, TX to move into a new home. So, super exciting to be able to capture a few images of everyone.
Joy, thank you for feeding into us with your wealth of knowledge, love, peace, inner light, and pure beauty. I feel honored and I definitely want to spend more time with you and the beautiful new friends that I made on this journey. The stories shared were both heartbreaking and beautiful, but more importantly, it linked some of us with a strand of understanding, compassion, and a bond.
Here’s to bonfires filled with exclamations of release, wildflowers, memories, new friends, and family. Love y’all to the moon and back.
